About Us > Our Founder Karen Kydd
Karen's dedication to closing the gap between corporations and communities earned her the prestigious "Entrepreneur of the Year" award by both the Metropolitan Economic Development Association (MEDA) and the National Black MBA (Masters of Business Administration) Association. A native of Connecticut, Karen held a degree in Management and Marketing from Boston University. She served on numerous community boards including Make-A-Wish Foundation, National Association of Minority Contractors, The Jeremiah Program and Little Brothers/Friends of the Elderly. Since her passing in July of 2001, her legacy lives on, not only through the continued work of The Kydd Group, but also through the Angels' Gate Foundation. |
It was through Karen Kydd's vision that The Kydd Group was founded and continues to flourish. Applying her background in marketing management from Northwest Airlines, she saw the company grow from a meeting and event-planning agency to a multi-faceted organization that now includes a full range of marketing services - strategic planning, research, sponsorship marketing, special events, promotions, public relations, media relations, and coaching for public speaking and presentations.
